Today I’d like to touch on what happens if you’re in an Uber and get into a car accident. If the Uber driver is on the clock, they are using the app, and you are a paying customer, then Uber does provide insurance for any accidents that may occur while they are driving. So, if the driver of the Uber is responsible for the accident and is at fault there is bodily injury coverage that you can go against. There is also uninsured or underinsured motorist coverage on the Uber policy as well if again you are a paying customer and the Uber driver is at fault for an accident. If the other driver is at fault for an accident while you’re traveling in an Uber there is uninsured motorist coverage that you can go after. Additionally, if you own a vehicle your own coverages may come into play as well and provide additional coverage. So, the bottom line is if you’re in an Uber and you’re a paying customer there will be insurance to cover you for your injuries if you’re involved in an accident.
